I-EMeRG

As development challenges grew more complex and the need for continuous learning increased, Bala Vikasa PDTC recognised the importance of a scalable, accessible model that could support social impact organisations and changemakers throughout the year. This led to the creation of I-EMeRG—a digital platform for Impact Education, Mentorship, and Resources for Growth.

I-EMeRG brings together multiple elements that contribute to stronger institutions and stronger individuals into one integrated, practice-led digital ecosystem. Training, guidance, resources, networks, talent, and sector opportunities—often found in separate spaces—are consolidated into a single platform built for continuous engagement and long-term development.

Created by Bala Vikasa PDTC, I-EMeRG extends more than three decades of community-driven development practice and non-profit management into a hybrid digital format, delivered through an annual membership model. The platform reflects PDTC’s belief that strong institutions create strong communities, and that learning becomes transformative when it is consistent, collaborative, and rooted in lived field experience.

What Sets Us Apart

I-EMeRG is a digital learning and networking platform shaped by Bala Vikasa’s long-standing and ongoing work as an implementing organisation and with over two decades of capacity-building experience through its People Development Training Center (PDTC), which has trained more than 18,000+ development practitioners from across 85+ countries.

Practice-Led Knowledge Base
I-EMeRG is built on learning drawn from real development work, not abstract theory. The modules, tools, and resources reflect approaches that Bala Vikasa and PDTC have used, tested, adapted, and refined over years of field practice. This ensures organisations engage with content that has been applied in real programmes, communities, and institutions—not ideas developed in isolation.
Accessibility, Flexibility & Affordability

I-EMeRG reduces the costs and constraints typically associated with capacity building. By delivering learning, mentoring, resources, and networking digitally, organisations save on travel, accommodation, and time away from work. Membership-based access further lowers costs by bundling multiple services—training, tools, updates, and connections—into a single subscription, rather than requiring separate payments for each.

International faculty with diverse experience

I-EMeRG is supported by an international faculty comprising experienced practitioners and experts from different countries. Their diverse backgrounds and sectoral expertise add global perspectives to learning, mentoring, and resource development, helping organizations and professionals strengthen their impact.

Designed from Lived Experience

The platform is shaped by Bala Vikasa’s experience of running and scaling a large, multi-sector NGO, as well as PDTC’s long history of building capacities of development professionals. This lived experience informs not only what is offered, but how it is delivered—keeping in mind organisational workloads, limited staff capacity, funding cycles, and the realities of working across different contexts.

A Unified, Long-Term Learning Outlook

Rather than offering disconnected trainings or one-time sessions, the platform is designed around a year-round learning journey. Topics are organised thematically and sequenced so organisations can engage with different aspects of programmatic, organisational, and leadership development over time, based on their priorities and pace.

A Collaborative Ecosystem Approach

Learning on I-EMeRG is not limited to content consumption. The platform creates spaces where practitioners, trainers, and organisations can interact through peer groups, expert circles, and shared learning forums. This mirrors PDTC’s facilitation-first learning culture, where reflection, dialogue, and exchange are as important as formal instruction.
